EP 28: What Kills Community?

Community done right is an amazing sight that brings us closer to our creator and each other. But when it’s done wrong or approached with the wrong motivation it can be difficult. Today we’re chatting about the #1 reason I believe community fails. Let’s jump in and see what the Bible has to say.

Philippians 2:2-4

Then make my job complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

  • We kill community when we make it all about us and our needs instead of the needs of others and advancing the kingdom of Christ.

Some things to consider:

  • How would our communities flourish if we started to have an attitude of serving instead of seeing what we could take and how it would benefit us?

  • If you are finding community building to be hard or difficult I would challenge you to look at your heart and motivations and see if there’s room for adjusting?

EP 27: Girl, You Are Enough

Darling, beautiful girl you are enough.

Exactly where you are.

Exactly who you are.

It’s enough for Jesus, it always has been. It’s time we start believing it too and leaning into it.

Have you struggled with knowing you are enough? I know I have. I hope you’ll listen to today’s podcast and find encouragement.

EP 26: Clearing Out Virtual Clutter

We spend a lot of time online, right?

It’s where our culture is. It’s where we find friendship and community at times. A year ago when I was clearing out the physical clutter in my life, God really spoke to me about the “virtual clutter” in my life as well. Today we’re exploring this topic.

Here you’ll find practical tips that I used to in my own life during this season of pruning and clearing. Give it a listen below.

Finding freedom in this area is so key, it’s not just physical clutter that gets into our spaces and makes an impact. I hope you feel encouraged today as you tackle your inbox, your social media presence and feeds, and anything else that isn’t serving you well.

EP 25: Authenticity vs. Transparency

Today we’re tackling the topic of authenticity vs. transparency. Most of us think these are the same, but in fact they are two very different topics and ideas. Today we’re going to explore why we need to be authentic always, and transparent with only a few people we trust with our story.

Being an authentic person has more to do with you being who God has created you to be, and less to do with how much info you’re sharing or putting out into the world.

We see this in Jesus’ life. Jesus had the twelve disciples, but within them he had three that he was even more transparent who those who were close to him. He was always authentic with people, but transparent with a few who were close to him.

EP 24: Can We Flourish During Hard Seasons?

Can we flourish during hard seasons?

The short answer, “yes.”

I think so. I think we can flourish during hard seasons of our lives. But I firmly believe part of that begins with surrendering what you are going through at the time to Jesus. Let him take the burden and be with you while you walk through a difficult time.
