EP 13: Fostering Community Over Competition with Candice Stenger

I’m excited to share with you guys my friend Candice! We met online through social media (don’t you just love when that works out?) and we’ve been able to connect and support one another in our endeavors. Candice and I chat about ‘Community Over Competition’ and why it matters to support one another.

I think you’re going to really enjoy our conversation! Read a little more more about Candice below.

Candice Stenger is a working momma, writer, speaker and founder of A Musing Momma in Phoenix, Arizona. Candice’s mission is to inspire mommas to embrace their worth, chase their passions and find their community. As a working woman, Candice thought that the corporate ladder was the only path to success until 2014, when she became a mother and realized there was more in life worth chasing after. It wasn’t until 2017 that Candice stepped into her greatness by getting back to her passion of writing and speaking. In 2017, A Musing Momma started out as a blog for mommas to go deeper in conversations around motherhood. Today, you can connect with the community by enjoying blog posts, listen and be a part of A Musing Momma The Podcast episodes, and meet and chat with other like-minded mommas in the closed Facebook group.

EP 12: Why I Don't Believe in Balance

Today’s podcast episode we’re talking about BALANCE.

Or rather how I don’t believe in balance. Yup, I said it. I don’t believe in balance. There’s no way that I can devote the same amount of time each day to all the activities, work, kids activities, ALL THE THINGS- it just doesn’t work. So I let that go. I let myself off the hook that it all needed to equal out a long time ago.

So instead I made a list of my priorities, and everything in my life flows around that. I encourage you to listen to today’s episode and feel encouraged to let your traditional view of ‘balance’ go- and instead think of what’s important to you, and how your priorities fit into your life.

EP 11: Debt Free Living with Olivia Snyder

I’m excited to share with you guys Olivia Snyder, we’ve been online friends for sometime now and she’s one of the OG bloggers I’ve been following for a while now. I love the internet and how it brings people together with like minded missions and Olivia has inspired me and encouraged me. And in many ways I relate to her so well, and I’m pretty sure if I lived in Dallas we’d be real life friends too. A little bit more about her;

I’m Olivia.  I live in the Dallas, Texas area.  My husband and I have been married for 11 years.  He’s a math teacher and college basketball official. I’m a teacher turned stay at home mom to 3 kids (7 year old boy, 4 year old boy, and 16 month old girl).  I’ve been blogging at Joyfully Prudent for the past several years.  I also have 2 Etsy shops and a YouTube channel I started last year.  Jesus is my rock and is my counselor through my roles as a wife, mom, and business woman.  I love coffee (it’s an experience), graphic tees, a clean home, organizing, and watching women’s soccer.

I hope that you guys feel encouraged and inspired by Olivia and her husband’s debt free story. No matter where you are at I think there’s something to take away here and start your own journey. I can attest myself to the freedom this has also given our family.

EP 10: How I Don't Do it All

Today is a big milestone for this podcast! We’re celebrating 10 episodes of the Flourish Together Podcast! This journey has been so fun and I can’t wait to share more episodes with you. I have some awesome guests and episodes planned for you coming up. Stay tuned!

Today we’re doing something a little different, I’m answering the question:

“How do you do it all with a busy life?”

This was a question that was DM’d to me several different times last week on social media, so I thought I’d tackle it on the podcast and give you my thoughts on the topic.

In this episode I talk a lot about priorities, my family and being a wife and mother is my top priority. Everything flows around me doing that well and serving my family.

Spoiler alert: I don’t do it all.

Nope not one bit.

A few thoughts I share in this episode:

  1. Ask for help

  2. Have boundaries and know your limits

  3. Say “no” when you need to, so that you can say “yes” and mean it.

Check out ‘The Best Yes’ - this is an invaluable resource.

EP 09: Creating A Family Mission Statement

Today on the podcast I’m sharing with you the idea of creating a family mission statement, or “family rules.” This is something that can be done at any point, if you haven’t created a family mission statement and your kids are older it’s not to late! Listen to this week’s episode where I share the “why” and importance behind doing this for your family. Keep scrolling to see how we’ve displayed our family mission statement in our home.

It’s all started when I read the book Five Star Families, you can pick up this book here. It’s a good, short read that really brings up a lot of great topics for families to move them from good to great. You can see below how we display this in our home- the center framed picture on the wall is our family mission statement and family rules. It’s right here and visible for all to see in my family and serves as a visual reminder for us everyday.

I hope you found today’s episode encouraging. Tag me on social media (@andreamworley) and let me know what you’re doing while you listen, or how you enjoyed this episode. Next week we’re celebrating 10 episodes of the podcast! I’m going to do a listener Q & A- leave your questions for me below and I’ll answer them in next week’s episode! Thank you for making this so much fun for me! It’s a joy to host and produce this podcast every week!
