Coffee Date:: When Lyrics Become Your Prayers

Worship is such a deep and personal way to connect with the Spirit of God. It's personal, it's raw, freeing and often times our first connection with Christ.

Music and worship has played such a big part of my relationship with the Lord. God speaks to me the most during times of worship, through music and songs. Through lyrics.

If we were having coffee today I'd tell you that often times songs become anthems for me during seasons of life. The song Oceans by Hillsong United has been one of those songs for me. I remember when I first heard it I thought the words were so powerful and raw.

I have found myself more and more in the last few weeks praying each word of this song and applying it to my own life. God has me in a season of sacrifice. Which is sorta ironic because he started stirring this inside of me at the end of last year, and then at the beginning of February I started an 8 week Bible study with the ladies from my church on Sacrifice and Suffering. God always has a sense of humor don't you think?

It's been wrecking me. God has been teaching me so much about Him. And about the season of life that I'm in and where he wants me to be. I hope to share more with you soon. I've related to songs like this before, songs that I feel I've literally lived out every word. Felt every emotion of it too.

And sat on my knees before God crying out and praying the lyrics as if I could have written them myself. Connected through worship, song and prayer.

This week has been quiet as I've had my mom in town and I'm soaking up every last moment with her and my family, but if we were having coffee today I would love to know how your week has been?

Anything God is teaching you lately?

Any songs like this you feel you've lived and prayed through?

Coffee Date:: That One Time When My Mom Surprised Us.

Hello friends!

Happy Friday to you! I hope you're all having a wonderful morning. Let's sip our coffee, unwind a bit, I want to hear about your week.

If we were having coffee this week I would tell you that this week went by fast! The best thing that happened this week is that my mom flew into town and surprised us all! She came into town for Ava's 4th birthday & party!

The look on Ava's face and the screaming from excitement was priceless. I wish I would have video tapped it! So yes, my mama is here staying with us for a good 10 days. I can hardly believe it myself. I always love having her come visit.

Also I would tell you that that past week Zane turned 15 months old! Wow! This time is going to fast. And on Monday I will officially have a 4 year old and a 15 month old! Time goes to fast and my babies are growing to fast as well.

So this weekend we're celebrating Ava's birthday with a rainbow party, and going to enjoy lots of family time! I'm so excited!
